Treatment in Glasgow
Detox
In order to progress with recovery, patients will need to complete a short period of detox initially. This will be a closely supervised process, with a dedicated team member on hand round the clock to meet your medical and emotional needs, focussed entirely on serenity and calm.
Your Individual Treatment Plan
The programme can then begin. This is a tailored programme of activity agreed with your therapist, which can include a variety of activities including counselling sessions, psychotherapy, mood management and craft sessions.
Aftercare
Your stay in residential care will be strongly supported with an aftercare programme suited to your needs going forward. It is very important to have support available in the days, weeks and months following rehabilitation in order to continue with your success in recovery. Typically this can involve follow-up meetings, counselling sessions, telephone calls, Skype chats and, in some cases, ‘top-up’ residential care.
Family Programme
Families are very important to the recovery process. At Priority we believe in involving your nearest and dearest as much as possible in the recovery process. Not only do they need support themselves to understand addiction and learn ways to support patients going forward, but also to overcome any negative feelings. They also play a vital part in the future of the recovering sufferer, which can offer hope and an incentive to succeed. We offer counselling sessions to family members, both individually and joint sessions with the patient.
FAQs
Can family come to see me during my residential stay?
Of course they can. As explained above, the support of loved ones is important to the recovery process.
Visits may be limited during the detox period to ensure the patient’s focus is not distracted and to avoid emotional situations. However, if your family wish to receive updates on your progress they can call in at any time and speak to one of our caring team, who will keep them informed with your agreement.
What is the cost of treatment in Glasgow?
Some addiction services can be accessed via the NHS, but it can be a long and stressful process accessing services free of charge. When an addicted person seeks help it is advisable to start treatment as quickly as possible in order to ensure the best chance of recovery.
The intense nature of residential treatment offers a swift recovery time with less chance of relapse due to the continual support and aftercare available. The service, in the same way as many other private medical facilities, is subject to a weekly fee, which is variable from location to location and patient to patient, but usually includes accommodation, a unique recovery programme and food and drinks.
