Treatment in Swansea
Detox
Treatment will begin with a detox period, during which time patients will be fully supported both medically and emotionally by a dedicated team member around the clock. The focus is entirely on calm and serenity.
Unique recovery plan
You will then begin your unique recovery plan in line with your initial assessment by a trained support manager. It can include a variety of therapies including equine assisted, creative techniques or counselling, psychotherapy and mood management, depending upon your individual needs.
Aftercare
At Priority we also offer an excellent after care programme. We believe that continued support following residential care is vitally important to the addicted person’s recovery success. Having a comforting voice on the end of the phone, or a friendly face via Skype or recovery meetings to turn to can make the world of difference in continued success in recovery. We may also advise additional residential stays where deemed necessary.
Family Programme
Your family can also play a vital role in recovery and at Priority we believe in involving them in the process as much as possible They may benefit from our expert counselling themselves, to help them to overcome negative feelings left in the wake of the addiction, which may have been going on for many years. Family sometimes support the addicted person unwittingly by giving them money, or excusing behaviour, such as phoning in sick to work when the patient was not well enough to attend. We can offer support and guidance on understanding the patient’s feelings and needs and finding practical ways to help recovery. Future planning is one of the most effective ways to assist recovering addiction sufferers and family can play a big part in helping you to look forward.
FAQs
Can I have visitors during my programme in Swansea?
Visitors are more than welcome at Priority’s centres in Swansea and across the UK. We want to help you any way we can during your recovery, and family visits can provide comfort and support. This may be slightly limited during detox due to the need for the patient to focus entirely and avoid emotional situations. However, our team will provide updates, over the phone, in line with the client’s wishes.
Is there a fee for Priority’s services?
Some services can be accessed free of charge through the NHS, however we believe in the need to take swift action once an addiction sufferer has sought help and tailor recovery plans to individual needs. That is why we would strongly recommend paying a weekly fee, as with other private medical outlets, to ensure you give yourself the best chance of success.
